The short answer
HighLevel costs $97, $297 or $497 a month for the plan, and usage decides the rest. For an AI receptionist the rule of thumb is simple: on a standard voice, pay per use is the cheapest way to buy Voice AI until a client passes roughly 1,426 AI minutes a month, and above that the $97 Unlimited plan wins. The $50 Growth plan only pays for itself when the client also uses Conversation AI and the other AI tools it bundles.
How to use the calculator
- Pick a client type. The presets fill in calls, call length, texts and emails for a typical dental office, HVAC company, law firm, med spa or real estate team. They are starting assumptions, so change them to your client's real numbers.
- Choose the plan and client count. Starter covers 3 sub-accounts. Unlimited and Agency Pro cover unlimited clients.
- Set up Voice AI. Choose the voice and model, then let the calculator pick the cheapest AI Employee option or force one.
- Switch to Price a client. Enter your monthly fee and markup, or set a target margin and read the fee the calculator suggests.
- Share it. Copy the scenario link and send it to a partner or client. The link rebuilds the same numbers.
What it counts
Most HighLevel calculators stop at the plan fee and a per-minute AI rate. This one adds every meter HighLevel bills an agency for a client account:
- Plan fee, monthly or annual (annual is 10 times the monthly price).
- Numbers and A2P fees: a local number at $1.15 a month and an A2P 10DLC campaign from $1.50 a month.
- Texts at $0.00747 a segment plus the carrier fee, which runs from $0.0035 to $0.005 on the big US networks.
- Phone minutes for people and for the AI agent. Calls are billed per full minute, rounded up per call, so a 2.5 minute call bills 3 phone minutes.
- Email at $0.675 per 1,000 sends.
- Voice AI on pay per use, Growth or Unlimited, whichever you choose or whichever is cheapest.
- Card fees on what you charge clients, if you bill through Stripe.
Worked example: an AI receptionist for a dental office
Say the AI answers 400 calls a month for one dental office and the average call lasts 2.5 minutes. That is 1,000 Voice AI minutes, and 1,200 billed phone minutes because each call rounds up.

On a standard voice, pay per use comes to about $0.20 per answered call, and it edges out the $97 plan at this volume. Double the calls and Unlimited wins. Switch to a premium speech-to-speech voice and pay per use costs several times more. That is why the calculator picks the plan per client instead of assuming one answer for every account.
Turning cost into a price
The Price a client tab works backward from cost. It adds the plan share, usage, the AI option and card fees for each client, then solves for the monthly fee that leaves your target margin after any usage you rebill. Agencies on Agency Pro can also rebill usage with a markup, which the calculator adds to revenue. On Unlimited, usage can only be passed through at cost.
Published agency examples put the software fee around $197 to $297 a month per client, but those are third-party figures, not data from HighLevel. What you can charge depends on the service wrapped around the software, which is why our SaaS Mode guide focuses on margins rather than a magic number.

Voice AI on pay-per-use also bills the AI model's tokens. HighLevel publishes the token price, not a per-minute figure, so the calculator assumes about 20,000 tokens per call minute (the agent re-reads its prompt and the conversation on every turn). That gives these estimates per minute before phone charges: Standard voice, GPT-4.1 Mini about $0.068; Standard voice, GPT-4o about $0.11; ElevenLabs voice, GPT-4.1 Mini about $0.088; Speech-to-speech, Gemini about $0.10; Speech-to-speech, OpenAI about $0.20. Long prompts and big knowledge bases push the token share up.

How much does GoHighLevel Voice AI cost per minute?
On pay per use it is $0.045 for the voice engine plus $0.015 for a standard OpenAI or Cartesia voice, plus the AI model's tokens and the phone minutes. Is the AI Employee included in the plan?
No. AI Employee is priced per sub-account: Growth at $50 a month (1,000 Conversation AI replies and 100 Voice AI minutes) or Unlimited at $97 a month under fair use. Without either, AI is billed per use. Phone minutes are charged on top in every case. See the AI Employee guide.
Can I rebill AI usage to my clients?
Only on Agency Pro. Unlimited can pass phone and email usage to clients at cost, with no markup. Agency Pro can rebill phone, email and AI with a markup you set. Our SaaS Mode guide explains the settings.
Does GoHighLevel charge per contact?
No. Every plan includes unlimited contacts and unlimited users. The costs that grow with activity are messages, minutes, email sends and AI.
