The short answer

This GoHighLevel review is research-based: it draws on HighLevel's official documentation and pricing and on public user reviews. Our score is 8 out of 10. HighLevel is legit, and for agencies running many client accounts it is strong value: $297 a month for unlimited client sub-accounts with CRM, funnels, calendars, texting, email, reviews and AI. It is a poor fit for one business that needs one simple tool, and for anyone without time to learn a large platform and watch usage costs.

8 / 10

Our verdict

A strong value for agencies running many client accounts, held back by a steep learning curve, uneven support and usage costs that take work to predict.

Why not higher: Capterra reviewers score ease of use 3.7 and support 3.7 out of 5, usage charges sit on top of every plan, and the status page logged about 120 incidents in the twelve months to September 2026. Why not lower: $297 a month buys unlimited client accounts, a white-label web app and built-in Voice AI, while ClickFunnels offers no white-label option and Vendasta's white-label plan starts at a $499 monthly minimum. The base plans have not gone up since at least January 2024.

How we reviewed HighLevel

We read HighLevel's pricing page, help center, changelog, Terms of Service and status page, and checked every price on 2026-09-29. We read public reviews on Trustpilot, Capterra and GetApp and summarize the complaints that recur, with a link to each source. We did not run a client account for this review, so there are no screenshots or test results here, and we do not present other people's experiences as our own. Our full method is on the how we review page. We earn a commission if you buy through our links; that does not change the score or which drawbacks we list.

Who it suits and who should skip it

Good fit:

  • Agencies managing more than three local-business clients. Unlimited removes the per-client software fee, and snapshots copy a finished setup to each new client.
  • Agencies that want to sell software under their own name. Agency Pro adds SaaS Mode, automatic account creation and usage billed back with a markup.
  • Agencies selling AI receptionists. Voice AI runs on any plan, per client, on pay per use or a flat AI plan.
  • Businesses replacing several tools at once: CRM, funnels and websites, scheduling, texting, email, reviews, courses and invoicing live in one account.

Skip it if:

  • You are one business that only needs email marketing or a simple CRM. Focused tools cost less and take less setup.
  • You have no time to learn a large tool, or no one to set it up for you.
  • You need a fixed, predictable bill. Texts, calls, email and AI are metered on top of the plan.
  • You run a medical practice and do not want to pay $297 a month for the HIPAA add-on, which is required before storing patient health information.

What you get

HighLevel bundles tools an agency would otherwise buy separately. Every plan includes the same core features, with unlimited contacts and users; the plans differ in client sub-accounts, rebilling and SaaS Mode.

  • CRM: contacts, smart lists, sales pipelines, lead scoring, custom objects and dashboards.
  • Funnels and websites: page, funnel and website builder, forms, surveys, order forms with one-click upsells, blogs and domain purchase.
  • Conversations and phone: one inbox for texts, email, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp and web chat, plus calling with IVR, call tracking and recording on a HighLevel or Twilio number.
  • Calendars: booking calendars, round robin, paid bookings and automatic reminders.
  • Reputation: review requests, AI review replies and review widgets.
  • Marketing: email and text campaigns, a social planner, and an ad manager for Google, Facebook and Instagram with no platform fee.
  • Courses, memberships and communities, plus invoices, estimates, text-to-pay and an online store, with Stripe, PayPal, NMI, Authorize.net, Square and other payment providers.
  • Workflows and snapshots: a visual automation builder, and snapshots that copy a whole account setup to a new client.

The breadth is the selling point and also the source of the learning curve: each area has its own settings, and a new client account touches most of them.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Unlimited client sub-accounts, users and contacts from $297 a month
  • Replaces a stack: CRM, funnels, calendars, texting, email, reviews, courses, invoicing
  • White-label web app, and full reselling through SaaS Mode on Agency Pro
  • Phone rates that HighLevel says match Twilio's: texts $0.00747 a segment; email $0.675 per 1,000
  • Voice AI, chat AI and review AI built in, per client
  • Month to month, 14 day trial on every plan, base prices unchanged since at least 2024

Cons

  • Steep learning curve and a crowded interface
  • Support quality varies; premium support is $500 a month extra
  • The bill is hard to predict: usage and AI are metered on top
  • Frequent updates bring bugs; about 120 status incidents in a year
  • A2P 10DLC registration can hold up texting for new clients
  • SaaS Mode and AI rebilling only on the $497 plan; HIPAA $297 a month and permanent

One more point belongs in any honest review: HighLevel's Terms of Service make you, not HighLevel, the legal sender of every text, call and email for rules such as the TCPA. Consent and opt-outs are the agency's and client's job.

What users rate it

Site Score Reviews Notes
Trustpilot 4.9 / 5 15,086 Many five-star reviews thank a named support agent, which suggests HighLevel asks for reviews after support chats (our inference)
Capterra 4.2 / 5 89 Ease of use 3.7, features 4.2, customer support 3.7, value for money 4.0
GetApp and Software Advice 4.2 / 5 89 Same review data as Capterra
Checked 2026-09-29. We could not verify G2's current score and review count, so we leave G2 out.

The gap between Trustpilot and Capterra is the useful signal. Many Trustpilot reviews read as thank-you notes after a support session. Capterra's smaller sample scores features well (4.2) and ease of use (3.7) and support (3.7) poorly, which matches the complaints below.

The five most common complaints

These are the patterns that recur across public reviews, paraphrased, with a source for each. They are other people's experiences, not our test results.

  1. Support is slow or inconsistent. Reviewers describe tickets waiting days for a reply, and a user on HighLevel's own ideas board complained in January 2025 that chat support had been replaced by Zoom calls. Sources: Trustpilot two-star reviews, HighLevel ideas board thread.
  2. It is complicated to learn. Capterra reviewers call the platform overly complex and the screen overwhelming, and ease of use is tied for its lowest sub-score. Source: Capterra reviews.
  3. Usage costs and trial billing surprise people. A one-star reviewer in June 2026 said extra fees reached four times the subscription price, and several others from June and July 2026 describe being charged when a trial ended. Source: Trustpilot one-star reviews.
  4. Updates introduce bugs. Capterra reviewers mention bugs and a company focused on new features, and a June 2026 one-star review blames recent updates. Sources: Capterra reviews, Trustpilot one-star reviews, HighLevel status page.
  5. Texting setup and deliverability. Reviewers describe A2P 10DLC registration for texting taking weeks and several attempts, and one reports frequent email bounces. Sources: GetApp reviews, Trustpilot two-star reviews, Trustpilot reviews.

Some of these have partial fixes. A2P resubmissions have been free since February 1, 2026, and HighLevel says its Fast Track program cuts campaign review to at most 3 working days. Wallet alerts can warn you before usage runs away. Our free trial guide starts A2P on day one for that reason.

Reliability

HighLevel's public status page lists about 120 incidents between September 2025 and September 2026. These stood out:

  • October 20, 2025: an AWS outage delayed texts and caused call failures for about 13 hours.
  • December 5, 2025: a Cloudflare outage took the app down.
  • February 13, 2026: incoming calls could not be answered for about 4.5 hours.
  • June 3, 2026: order forms failed after an update.
  • August 31 to September 2, 2026: app assets failed to load.

Two of those started at infrastructure providers (AWS and Cloudflare) rather than at HighLevel itself. We have no like-for-like incident counts for competitors, so treat the number as context rather than a ranking. For clients who live on the phone, keep a fallback such as call forwarding to a staff cell.

Pricing in brief

Plan Monthly Client sub-accounts Usage rebilling
Starter $97 3 No
Unlimited $297 Unlimited Phone and email at cost
Agency Pro $497 Unlimited With your markup
Source: HighLevel pricing page, checked 2026-09-29. Annual billing is ten times the monthly price. Enterprise is priced by sales.

Common add-ons: AI Employee at $50 or $97 a month per client, HIPAA at $297 a month for the whole account, a white-label mobile app at $497 a month and premium support at $500 a month. Usage is paid from a prepaid wallet: phone numbers from $1.15 a month, calls from $0.01165 a minute, texts and email as above. The full breakdown is in our GoHighLevel pricing guide.

AI features

HighLevel's AI covers chat replies (Conversation AI), phone calls (Voice AI), review replies, content writing, workflow steps and an in-app assistant. Voice AI answers inbound calls, calls leads from workflows and books appointments during the call. Since May 20, 2026, a Voice AI minute on pay per use is billed in parts: $0.045 for the engine, $0.015 or more for the voice, the AI model's tokens, then the phone line. With a budget model that comes to about $0.068 a minute before phone charges. Per client, you can stay on pay per use or buy AI Employee Growth ($50) or Unlimited ($97).

The AI is capable, and it is also the part of the bill most likely to surprise you. Our Voice AI pricing guide works out the cost per call, and the AI Employee guide compares the two flat plans.

SaaS Mode and white label

On Unlimited and Agency Pro you can run the web app on your own domain, so clients log in to your brand. Agency Pro adds SaaS Mode: subscription plans with trials and add-ons, checkout that creates client accounts automatically, and rebilling of texts, calls, email and AI with your own markup. The catch is the rules. HighLevel's minimum advertised price policy stops you publicly advertising the core platform below $97, and the upgrade from Unlimited costs $200 a month more. Our SaaS Mode guide covers the setup and what to charge.

Alternatives

The alternatives agencies compare most often, on price and white-labeling:

  • ClickFunnels starts at $97 a month on its Launch plan (10,000 contacts, one workspace) and offers no white-label option.
  • HubSpot Marketing Hub Starter lists at $20 per seat a month; Professional is $890 a month for three seats plus a required $3,000 onboarding fee.
  • Vendasta sells a white-label platform for agencies, from its Professional plan at a $499 monthly minimum spend on a one-year contract.

Questions

Is GoHighLevel legit?

Yes. HighLevel is a real software company founded in 2018 by Shaun Clark, Varun Vairavan and Robin Alex, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and backed by a 2024 minority investment from General Atlantic. It publishes its prices, runs a public status page, and holds SOC 2 Type II accreditation. It has 4.9 stars on Trustpilot from 15,086 reviews and 4.2 on Capterra. Legit is not the same as right for you, which is what the rest of this review covers.

Is GoHighLevel worth it?

For agencies running more than a handful of client accounts, usually yes: Unlimited at $297 a month covers unlimited client sub-accounts with CRM, funnels, calendars, texting, email, reviews and AI. It is rarely worth it for a single business that needs one simple tool, or for anyone without time to learn a large platform and keep an eye on usage charges. Our score is 8 out of 10.

Is GoHighLevel hard to learn?

It has a real learning curve. Capterra reviewers rate ease of use 3.7 out of 5, tied with support for its lowest sub-score, and describe the platform as complicated and the screen as overwhelming. Budget real setup time for your first client. Snapshots, which copy a finished account setup, shorten the work for every client after that.

Is GoHighLevel worth it in 2026?

The case is about the same as in 2025, with a few changes. Base plan prices have not moved since at least January 2024. What changed is usage: carrier fees rose, Voice AI was split into separate charges on May 20, 2026, and a $50 AI Employee Growth plan was added next to the $97 Unlimited plan. AI features are stronger than a year ago, and so is the need to cost them per client.

Who should use GoHighLevel and who should not?

Use it if you are an agency managing several local-business clients, want to resell software under your own brand, or want to replace a stack of separate tools with one account. Skip it if you are one business that only needs email marketing or a basic CRM, need a polished tool that works with little setup, or need a fixed monthly bill with no usage to monitor.

Is GoHighLevel secure?

HighLevel says it holds SOC 2 Type II accreditation for security, confidentiality and availability, encrypts data in transit with TLS 1.2 or 1.3 and at rest with AES-256, and supports two-factor login. Health data needs the $297 a month HIPAA add-on, since accounts are not HIPAA compliant by default. We found no reported data breach in 2025 or 2026. Security also depends on you: use two-factor login and limit user permissions.
