The short answer
GoHighLevel invoices let a sub-account create one-time and recurring invoices and estimates, brand them with a logo and terms, and get paid online by card, by ACH through Stripe, or through another connected processor. Recurring invoices repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or on a custom interval, with auto-payment from a saved card. Automated reminders go out by email and SMS before or after the due date, and you can accept partial payments above a minimum percentage. Invoicing is part of the Payments and Invoicing core feature in every plan.

Creating and sending invoices
Invoices and estimates live together under Payments. Invoice settings hold your logo, company details and default payment terms, and each invoice carries items, prices, customer details, terms and notes, and optional attachments. Statuses move from Draft to Sent to Paid, and you can follow up with a customer straight from the invoice view. Tips can be enabled, payment plans added, invoices imported from CSV, and invoices sent from the mobile app. Two details catch people out: a paid invoice cannot be edited, and deleting the logo from the media library breaks it on existing invoices.
Recurring invoices
Recurring invoices generate at equal intervals: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or a custom gap such as every 2 days. You can end the series on a date or after a number of occurrences; without an end condition it continues until stopped manually. Auto payments charge the customer's saved card when each invoice is issued, setup fees can be added to recurring invoices, and a workflow action can start a recurring invoice automatically, for example when a contract is signed. HighLevel can also generate invoices from signed documents and contracts, which suits agencies and service firms that sell retainers.
Getting paid on time
Automated reminders run on rules such as every 3 days after the due date or 2 days before it, by email and SMS, with a maximum count so they stop eventually. They do not apply to invoices that were already overdue before reminders were switched on, and changing the default due date only affects new invoices. Partial payments let the customer pay any amount at or above a minimum percentage you set; this needs Stripe, Authorize.net or NMI. On recurring invoices with auto-pay, the partial option applies only to the first invoice and later ones charge in full.
- ACH Direct Debit through Stripe works on one-time and recurring invoices
- Apple Pay and Google Pay on invoices require Stripe
- Processing charges can be added to invoices with any provider
AI invoice layouts
On September 28, 2026 HighLevel released an AI-powered layout builder for invoices. You describe the layout you want, the AI builds it, and you adjust any element in a visual editor before applying it to the invoices customers see. It is switched on per sub-account through HighLevel Labs under the name AI-Powered Custom Invoice Layouts, so it may change while in Labs. For most businesses the standard layout with a logo and clear terms is enough; the builder helps when invoices need a specific structure, such as trade quotes with sections.
