The short answer
GoHighLevel vs Salesforce comes down to what you need to run. Salesforce is the better fit for companies with a dedicated sales team and an admin that need custom objects, forecasting and a path to enterprise tools. HighLevel is the better fit for agencies and local businesses that want funnels, texting, calling and review requests in one account without paying per seat. Salesforce's Free Suite plan is $0 per user/month; HighLevel starts at $97 a month with usage billed on top.
Salesforce is one of the best-known CRM vendors and sells a family of products rather than one app. Small businesses start with Starter Suite at $25 per user a month, which puts sales, service and email marketing on one CRM, or Pro Suite at $100 per user a month. Larger sales teams buy Sales Cloud editions (Core, Advanced and Max) priced from $195 to $550 per user a month on annual billing. It suits companies with structured sales teams that want deep customization, forecasting and a large app ecosystem, and that have someone to administer it.

Where Salesforce is stronger
Salesforce advantages
- One CRM that scales from a free suite to enterprise Sales Cloud editions, so a growing team does not have to change systems.
- Starter Suite already includes email campaigns, a drag-and-drop email builder, smart segmentation and campaign analytics.
- Agentforce adds AI agents for sales, and Agentforce Voice can answer and place calls, sold through Salesforce's sales team.
- Quoting, forecasting and heavier customization from Pro Suite up, plus access to the AgentExchange marketplace.
Where Salesforce falls short
- Every seat is paid: ten users on Starter Suite cost $250 a month, while HighLevel Starter is $97 a month for any number of users.
- The pricing pages list no built-in texting, phone dialer, funnel builder, website builder or review requests, all of which HighLevel includes.
- Pro Suite and the Sales Cloud editions require annual billing, where HighLevel runs month to month with no long-term contract.
- No white-label or resale option is listed, so an agency cannot put its own brand on client accounts.
Where HighLevel is stronger
HighLevel puts CRM, funnels, websites, two-way texting, calling, review requests, courses and an AI phone agent in one login, and agencies can put their own brand on it from the Unlimited plan. The trade-off is a steeper learning curve and usage charges on top of the plan, which our cost calculator adds up. For the full picture read our GoHighLevel review.
Who should pick which
| Choose Salesforce | Companies with a dedicated sales team and an admin that need custom objects, forecasting and a path to enterprise tools. |
|---|---|
| Choose HighLevel | Agencies and local businesses that want funnels, texting, calling and review requests in one account without paying per seat. |
Switching
Leaving Salesforce is mostly a data mapping job. Export accounts, contacts and opportunities to CSV, map them to HighLevel companies, contacts and opportunities, and set up your pipelines and stages before the import. Flows, validation rules and custom code do not carry over and must be rebuilt as HighLevel workflows. If you will text customers from HighLevel, start A2P 10DLC registration early, since US carriers require it before business texting.
Verdict
Salesforce and HighLevel are built for different buyers. Salesforce is a sales operating system for teams that need permissions, forecasting, custom data models and a long runway to enterprise features, and it charges for every user. HighLevel is a marketing and client communication platform with texting, calling, funnels, websites and reviews built in, priced per account rather than per seat. A twelve-rep B2B sales team with an administrator will get more from Salesforce. An agency running marketing for local businesses, or a small business that lives on texts and booked appointments, will usually pay less with HighLevel and use more of what it pays for.
