The short answer

GoHighLevel Affiliate Manager is the tool inside a HighLevel sub-account that lets a business run its own affiliate or referral program. It is not HighLevel's partner program for agencies. You create campaigns, give each affiliate a tracking link, and pay per lead (a form, survey or calendar booking) or per sale, as a flat amount or a percentage, with up to 7 commission tiers. Affiliates see links, commissions, payouts and referred customers in their own portal, and you pay them automatically through PayPal or manually by Stripe, bank transfer, Wise or check.

Campaigns and commission types

A campaign defines what affiliates promote and how they are paid. Commission is a flat fee or a percentage of the product price, can be set per product, and can optionally include setup fees. Advanced settings allow up to 7 commission tiers, commission length and variable commissions, and affiliate-level rates that override the campaign default for top performers. Pay per lead rewards form submissions, survey completions and calendar bookings. Pay per sale can also start from a form, survey or booking and pay out when that contact buys within the tracking window, but pay per lead and pay per sale cannot both be on for the same setup.

Which sales it can track

Product sales are tracked on HighLevel funnels, websites and stores. For a site built elsewhere, the External Website source gives affiliates one link that tracks across the whole domain and its subdomains after you install HighLevel's tracking script, but HighLevel says only products sold through Stripe are supported there. On external sites, one-time products always use the default commission; only recurring products can take custom rates. HighLevel lists Stripe, NMI, Authorize.net and PayPal as gateways for product sales while noting that attribution support may differ from general payment availability.

  • Cookie length is set per campaign
  • Changing a campaign's source changes the referral URL, and the old URL stops tracking
  • Calendar bookings count for pay per sale only when payment is enabled on the calendar

Approving and paying commissions

Payouts are generated on the 1st of each month in a Pending tab. You review them by campaign and month, approve them, then pay through PayPal auto payouts or record a manual payment and mark it Paid. Paid payouts are locked; rejected ones move to Denied. Payout terms from NET-7 to NET-90 delay payment until after month end. That setting matters more than it looks, because HighLevel does not automatically reverse commissions when a one-time sale or subscription is refunded. Match the payout term to your refund or chargeback window, for example NET-30 for a 30-day guarantee.

The affiliate portal and sub-affiliates

Affiliates log in to an affiliate portal that shows campaign details, referral links, commissions, payouts, leads and customers, and the program can also appear as an app in the business's Client Portal. Multi-tier campaigns can accept sub-affiliates through a sign-up form, which must collect first name, last name and email, and a global setting can auto-enroll new customers as sub-affiliates. That suits businesses whose buyers are the best promoters, such as coaches, course creators and software sellers, where each customer can become a referral partner without a separate application step.

Questions

Is this the same as the HighLevel affiliate program?
No. The HighLevel affiliate program pays people for referring new HighLevel customers. Affiliate Manager is a feature inside a sub-account that lets that business pay its own affiliates for referring its own customers, for example a gym paying members for referrals or a coach paying partners a share of course sales.
Can Affiliate Manager track sales on a site not built in HighLevel?
Yes, with limits. The External Website source uses a tracking script on your site and one link that covers the whole domain, but HighLevel supports only products sold through Stripe there. One-time products on external sites always use the default commission. Shopify or WooCommerce checkouts are not listed as supported sources.
How are affiliates paid?
HighLevel builds payouts on the 1st of each month. You approve them, then pay automatically through PayPal or manually by Stripe, bank transfer, Wise or check and mark them Paid. Payout terms from NET-7 to NET-90 let you hold commissions until the refund window has passed.
Does Affiliate Manager handle refunds?
Not automatically. HighLevel's payout guide says the system does not track refunds on one-time products or subscriptions. The safeguard is the payout term: set NET-30 or longer if you offer a 30-day refund, and review pending payouts against refunds before approving them each month.
