The short answer

GoHighLevel for bankruptcy lawyers works as one system for calls, texts, bookings, reviews and follow-up. A single bankruptcy law firm fits on Starter at $97 a month. With our assumed volumes the all-in bill is about $219 a month. An agency running ten bankruptcy lawyers on Unlimited pays about $152 per business.

Bankruptcy callers are often embarrassed and under pressure: a wage garnishment starts Friday, a foreclosure sale is scheduled, or collectors call every day. They search late at night, call several firms and choose the one that answers without judgment. The firm has to separate real urgency from general curiosity, explain fees and the required courses, and do it all without advising anyone whether to file. Federal law also sets specific disclosure rules for how bankruptcy help is advertised.

Why bankruptcy lawyers miss leads

These are the calls and messages a typical bankruptcy law firm has to catch. Each one is a job, a booking or a sale if someone answers quickly:

  • Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 questions
  • Wage garnishment or bank levy
  • Foreclosure or repossession threat
  • Collector calls and lawsuits
  • Attorney fee and payment plan
  • Credit counseling requirement
  • Case status for an existing client

Five workflows to build first

  1. Urgency taggingInquiries that mention a sale date, a garnishment or a lawsuit deadline are tagged urgent and alert staff, while general debt questions go into the regular consultation flow.
  2. Document gathering sequenceAfter a consultation, clients receive a checklist of pay stubs, tax returns and statements, with spaced reminders and an upload link, because the file cannot move until the documents arrive.
  3. Credit counseling reminderRetained clients get a reminder to complete the required credit counseling course before filing, with the firm's instructions, and staff are alerted when the certificate comes in.
  4. Debtor education reminderAfter filing, clients receive reminders to finish the debtor education course, which is generally required before a discharge, until staff mark it complete.
  5. Missed consultation recoveryProspects who miss a consultation get a same-day text with a rebooking link and a gentle note, since a text is easier to answer than a call for someone avoiding collectors.

HighLevel's workflow builder runs all of these, and missed call text back is usually the quickest win.

Adding an AI receptionist

Voice AI can answer the calls above around the clock, book them into the calendar and pass the hard ones to a person. On our assumptions it costs about $0.40 per answered call, phone line included. What the AI should handle, what it should hand to staff and a sample call are in our guide to an AI receptionist for bankruptcy lawyers.

Rules to watch

Debt relief agency disclosures. Under 11 U.S.C. 528, advertisements for bankruptcy assistance directed to the general public must include a statement such as 'We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the Bankruptcy Code.' Put the approved statement in ads, and in any AI greeting or outbound message your counsel says needs it.

Credit counseling and debtor education. The U.S. Trustee Program says individuals must complete credit counseling before filing, with very limited exceptions, or the case could be dismissed, and generally must finish a debtor education course after filing to receive a discharge. The AI can describe this generally but must never tell someone whether to file.

Solicitation and prospective client information. Model Rule 7.3 restricts soliciting clients by live phone contact for pecuniary gain, and Rule 1.18 protects information from prospective clients. Do not point outbound AI calls at lists of people facing foreclosure or lawsuits, and keep intake to what a conflict check needs.

General information, not legal advice. Check the rules for your state with a qualified professional.

Software bankruptcy lawyers often use

Best Case, NextChapter, Clio, LawPay. Check the HighLevel marketplace or ask HighLevel before assuming any of these connect directly.

Which plan

One bankruptcy law firm fits on Starter at $97 a month, which includes 3 sub-accounts. Move to Unlimited at $297 if you run more than three locations or brands. Agencies serving many bankruptcy lawyers should compare Unlimited with Agency Pro and SaaS Mode, which lets you resell and mark up usage.

Questions

Can GoHighLevel help a bankruptcy firm collect client documents?
Yes. After a consultation, a workflow sends a document checklist with an upload link and spaced reminders by text and email, and staff can see in the pipeline who is still missing items. Keep reminders general, without debt amounts or creditor names, in case someone else reads the client's messages.
Does GoHighLevel prepare bankruptcy petitions?
No. Petition preparation and filing are not on HighLevel's feature list; bankruptcy software such as Best Case or NextChapter handles them. HighLevel covers intake, consultations, reminders about required courses, payment links and marketing, with signed clients moving into your petition software.
Can bankruptcy clients pay attorney fees through GoHighLevel?
HighLevel can send invoices and payment links through processors such as Stripe, Square or Authorize.net. Check with counsel on how your fee arrangements and any trust account rules apply before routing fees through a general processor, and keep a clear record of what each payment covers.
What does GoHighLevel cost a bankruptcy practice?
Starter is $97 a month, or $970 a year, with unlimited users and contacts. Texts cost $0.00747 per segment plus carrier fees, and a local number $1.15 a month. A firm that advertises heavily can add a call tracking number per campaign at that same monthly rate to see which ads bring consultations.
