The short answer

GoHighLevel for employment lawyers works as one system for calls, texts, bookings, reviews and follow-up. A single employment law firm fits on Starter at $97 a month. With our assumed volumes the all-in bill is about $192 a month. An agency running ten employment lawyers on Unlimited pays about $125 per business.

Employment law firms field calls from workers who were just fired, passed over, harassed or shorted on overtime, and sometimes from business owners facing a complaint. Many firms represent only one side, and cases can turn on strict agency filing deadlines. Callers often phone from work or give a work email, which creates privacy problems. Intake has to identify the side, the key date and the employer quickly, run conflicts against existing clients, and never tell a caller whether they have a case.

Why employment lawyers miss leads

These are the calls and messages a typical employment law firm has to catch. Each one is a job, a booking or a sale if someone answers quickly:

  • Wrongful termination
  • Discrimination or harassment at work
  • Unpaid wages or overtime
  • Retaliation after a complaint
  • Severance agreement review
  • Employer defending a claim
  • EEOC charge or other agency deadline

Five workflows to build first

  1. Deadline triageIntake asks when the key event happened and whether any agency charge has been filed. Inquiries close to a filing deadline are tagged urgent and routed to an attorney the same day.
  2. Employer conflict checkEvery inquiry records the employer's name, the managers involved and the caller's role, and staff check them against current and past clients before any consultation.
  3. Private contact channelThe intake form and the AI ask for a personal email and phone, and workflows never send to work addresses, since employers may monitor those accounts.
  4. Severance review fast trackCallers holding a severance agreement get a link to book a short review consultation and a reminder to bring the agreement and note its signing deadline.
  5. Declined matter noticeWhen the firm declines a matter, a task prompts staff to send a non-engagement letter noting that deadlines may apply, and the contact is excluded from marketing lists.

HighLevel's workflow builder runs all of these, and missed call text back is usually the quickest win.

Adding an AI receptionist

Voice AI can answer the calls above around the clock, book them into the calendar and pass the hard ones to a person. On our assumptions it costs about $0.40 per answered call, phone line included. What the AI should handle, what it should hand to staff and a sample call are in our guide to an AI receptionist for employment lawyers.

Rules to watch

Agency filing deadlines. The EEOC says a discrimination charge generally must be filed within 180 calendar days, extended to 300 days where a state or local agency enforces a similar law, and federal employees usually must contact an EEO counselor within 45 days. The AI should flag timing, never calculate a deadline.

Conflicts and prospective clients. Model Rule 1.7 covers conflicts with current clients, and Rule 1.18 protects information from prospective clients even if the firm declines. An employee complaining about a company the firm represents is a likely conflict, so staff must clear the employer's name before any facts are discussed.

No advice and truthful advertising. Model Rule 7.1 bars misleading statements about a lawyer's services, including implied results. The AI must not say whether a firing was illegal or estimate what a claim is worth, and it should state that the call does not create an attorney-client relationship.

General information, not legal advice. Check the rules for your state with a qualified professional.

Which plan

One employment law firm fits on Starter at $97 a month, which includes 3 sub-accounts. Move to Unlimited at $297 if you run more than three locations or brands. Agencies serving many employment lawyers should compare Unlimited with Agency Pro and SaaS Mode, which lets you resell and mark up usage.

Questions

How can an employment law firm use GoHighLevel for intake?
Build a pipeline with stages for New Inquiry, Conflict Check, Deadline Review, Consultation and Retained, and capture the event date and employer name on every contact. Workflows can flag inquiries near agency deadlines and send booking links after clearance. Matter management moves to your practice software once a client signs.
Can GoHighLevel keep messages away from clients' work email?
Yes, by design rather than by default. Collect a personal email and phone at intake, store them as the primary contact methods, and add a workflow condition that stops messages to addresses on the employer's domain. Train staff to confirm the contact method before sending anything by hand.
Can GoHighLevel handle both employee and employer clients?
It can track both, but many employment firms represent one side, and mixing them raises conflict risk. If you do both, use separate pipelines, tags and marketing lists, and keep conflict checking in your practice management system. Make sure no employee campaign ever reaches an employer client, or the reverse.
What does GoHighLevel cost an employment law practice?
Starter is $97 a month with unlimited users and contacts, and three sub-accounts if you want separate brands. Usage is billed from a wallet: a local number is $1.15 a month, texts $0.00747 per segment plus carrier fees, and email $0.675 per 1,000. AI can run on pay per use or a monthly AI Employee plan.
