The short answer
GoHighLevel for landscapers works as one system for calls, texts, bookings, reviews and follow-up. A single landscaping company fits on Starter at $97 a month. With our assumed volumes the all-in bill is about $142 a month. An agency running ten landscapers on Unlimited pays about $75 per business.
Landscaping phones are seasonal and lopsided. Spring brings a flood of calls for cleanups, mowing contracts, mulch and new installs all in the same six weeks, right when every crew is out from dawn to dusk. By midsummer the calls turn to broken sprinkler heads and design ideas for next year, and in fall it is leaf cleanup and irrigation blowouts. Many callers are existing customers with quick questions, and every minute spent answering them is a minute not spent pricing the large install jobs.
Why landscapers miss leads
These are the calls and messages a typical landscaping company has to catch. Each one is a job, a booking or a sale if someone answers quickly:
- Weekly mowing and maintenance quote
- Spring or fall cleanup
- Landscape design or installation estimate
- Sprinkler startup, repair or winterization
- Fertilizer and weed control program
- Mulch, sod or planting
- Snow removal contract
Five workflows to build first
- Season renewal campaignIn late winter, maintenance customers get a renewal text and email with this year's service agreement and a link to accept. Anyone who hasn't replied gets a reminder a week later, and crew leaders see who has renewed before routes are built.
- Rain delay noticesWhen weather pushes the schedule, one workflow texts every customer on the day's route that service moves to the next dry day. It heads off the wave of 'are you still coming?' calls on wet mornings.
- Design consultation nurtureInstall leads get a short questionnaire about budget, style and timeline, then a consultation booking link. After the design meeting, the proposal goes out with reminders and a note on the next open install window.
- Irrigation blowout schedulingIn early fall, sprinkler customers get a winterization booking link with slots grouped by neighborhood, so crews can cluster stops. The spring startup reminder is set automatically from the fall appointment date.
- Review request after an installA week after an install, once plants have settled, the customer gets a text asking for a review and inviting before and after photos. The request goes to every install customer, not a hand-picked few.
HighLevel's workflow builder runs all of these, and missed call text back is usually the quickest win.

Adding an AI receptionist
Voice AI can answer the calls above around the clock, book them into the calendar and pass the hard ones to a person. On our assumptions it costs about $0.24 per answered call, phone line included. What the AI should handle, what it should hand to staff and a sample call are in our guide to an AI receptionist for landscapers.
Rules to watch
Pesticide and fertilizer applications. Federal law requires certification to apply or supervise the use of restricted use pesticides, and EPA notes that many states require certification for any commercial pesticide application. The AI should not recommend products or answer questions about what was sprayed; it should take a message for your certified applicator.
Service texts versus promotions. Keep consent for route updates and consent for promotions in separate fields on each contact, and send upsell texts only to customers who agreed to marketing. The FCC's 2024 ruling puts AI-generated voices under the TCPA's artificial voice rules, so automated promotional calls need prior express written consent.

Software landscapers often use
LMN, Aspire, Jobber, SingleOps, Service Autopilot. Check the HighLevel marketplace or ask HighLevel before assuming any of these connect directly.
Which plan
One landscaping company fits on Starter at $97 a month, which includes 3 sub-accounts. Move to Unlimited at $297 if you run more than three locations or brands. Agencies serving many landscapers should compare Unlimited with Agency Pro and SaaS Mode, which lets you resell and mark up usage.
