The short answer

GoHighLevel for window tinting shops works as one system for calls, texts, bookings, reviews and follow-up. A single window tint shop fits on Starter at $97 a month. With our assumed volumes the all-in bill is about $142 a month. An agency running ten window tinting shops on Unlimited pays about $75 per business.

Window tint shops live on phone questions that sound simple but are not: how dark is legal, what separates ceramic from carbon film, and how long the car will be in the bay. Installers are inside vehicles with film and heat guns, so calls go unanswered at the moment a customer is ready to book. Legal limits differ by state and by window, and a careless answer can leave a customer with a ticket or a failed inspection, which usually comes back to the shop.

Why window tinting shops miss leads

These are the calls and messages a typical window tint shop has to catch. Each one is a job, a booking or a sale if someone answers quickly:

  • Price for a full car or the front two windows
  • How dark is legal in this state
  • Ceramic versus carbon or dyed film
  • How long the install takes
  • Windshield strip or full windshield film
  • Removing old, bubbling tint
  • Home or office window film

Five workflows to build first

  1. Missed call text with film optionsA missed call sends a text with the shop's film lines, a booking link and a question about the vehicle year, make and model, since the number and shape of windows drive the price.
  2. Aftercare instructionsAfter install, the customer gets a text with the shop's aftercare rules, such as how long to keep windows up and how to clean the film, which heads off avoidable peeling complaints.
  3. Film warranty registrationWhen the film maker offers a warranty that needs registering, a workflow sends the customer the details and a reminder, so they have proof of coverage if they need it later.
  4. Dealer and fleet follow-upDealerships and fleet managers sit in a separate pipeline with scheduled check-ins, since a single dealer account can send work every week.
  5. Review request after pickupThe day after pickup, customers receive a review request by text. Tint buyers often compare shops online before calling, so recent reviews keep new customers coming.

HighLevel's workflow builder runs all of these, and missed call text back is usually the quickest win.

Adding an AI receptionist

Voice AI can answer the calls above around the clock, book them into the calendar and pass the hard ones to a person. On our assumptions it costs about $0.20 per answered call, phone line included. What the AI should handle, what it should hand to staff and a sample call are in our guide to an AI receptionist for window tinting shops.

Rules to watch

State tint limits differ. Each state sets light transmission limits window by window. Texas, for example, requires front side window film to let through at least 25 percent of light with reflectance of 25 percent or less, while New York requires front side windows to pass at least 70 percent. Keep the AI's legal answers to your state's official numbers.

Medical exemptions. Some states allow darker tint with a medical exemption. Texas requires a signed statement from a licensed physician or optometrist, and New York uses an application, form MV-80W, for qualifying conditions. The AI should explain that a process exists and send eligibility questions to staff.

General information, not legal advice. Check the rules for your state with a qualified professional.

Which plan

One window tint shop fits on Starter at $97 a month, which includes 3 sub-accounts. Move to Unlimited at $297 if you run more than three locations or brands. Agencies serving many window tinting shops should compare Unlimited with Agency Pro and SaaS Mode, which lets you resell and mark up usage.

Questions

Can GoHighLevel handle dealership and retail tint customers separately?
Yes. Use one pipeline for retail customers and another for dealer and fleet accounts, each with its own follow-up. Dealers may need recurring booking blocks and monthly invoices, while retail customers respond to quick booking links and review requests. Tags keep reporting clean, so you can see which side of the business is growing.
Can customers book tint appointments online?
Yes. HighLevel booking calendars can offer slots of different lengths, so a front-two-windows job and a full car with old film removal each take the right amount of bay time. The booking form can ask for vehicle details and film choice, and text reminders help cut no-shows.
Is GoHighLevel better than Tint Wiz for a tint shop?
They aim at different jobs. Tint Wiz is built for tint and film businesses, with leads, proposals, scheduling and project tracking for that trade. HighLevel is broader: CRM, websites, funnels, email and text campaigns, reviews, calendars and AI. A shop wanting heavier marketing may prefer HighLevel, while one focused on trade-specific quoting may prefer Tint Wiz.
What does GoHighLevel cost a tint shop?
Starter is $97 a month with unlimited users and contacts. Usage adds a little: $1.15 a month for a local number, per-segment text charges and per-minute call charges. AI runs on pay per use or the $50 Growth and $97 Unlimited AI Employee plans per sub-account. There is a 14-day free trial.
