The short answer
The GoHighLevel prospecting tool finds local businesses by keyword and location, within a radius of up to 30 miles, and builds marketing audit reports on their directory listings, Google Business Profile and reviews for an agency to use as an opener. The free version lives at the agency level only, with 50 basic reports a day and 5 premium reports a month. Premium Prospecting costs $29 a month per sub-account and adds unlimited reports, AI-powered lead discovery, website performance audits, local SEO heatmaps and an embeddable audit widget. Agencies can resell Premium to clients at a price they set.

Finding prospects
A search takes a keyword, either a business type like Dentist or a brand name, and a location: a city, a postal code, or near me based on your IP address. The radius goes up to 30 miles from the center point. A search returns more than 50 results, and up to 60 with a Labs feature. HighLevel says prospect records can include phone numbers, email addresses, social profiles on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, and location details. There is also a bulk prospecting mode, and support for service area businesses that do not show a street address, including audits and heatmaps for them.
What the audit report shows
The basic report has two main parts. Listings checks the business's details across more than 70 directories, and Reviews summarizes its Google and Facebook reviews. An optional section detects the website platform, such as WordPress, Webflow or Wix. Premium adds website performance checks for speed, SEO and mobile-friendliness, and local SEO heatmaps that show where the business ranks for a keyword across the map. Reports can be customized with a report builder, exported as PDFs in several languages, and regenerated once a week on Premium, which helps when following up to show what changed.
Free vs Premium
The free version is enough to test whether audit-led outreach works for an agency. Premium is for agencies prospecting every day or giving the tool to clients. Start on the free allowance of 5 premium reports a month to see whether prospects respond to audits, and upgrade once 50 basic reports a day becomes the limit. The differences:
- Free: agency level only, 50 basic reports a day, 5 premium reports a month, listings audit, basic Google Business Profile analysis and review snapshot
- Premium ($29/mo): unlimited reports with weekly regeneration, AI-powered prospecting that finds qualified leads, website performance audits, local SEO heatmaps and rankings
- Premium also adds a lead generation widget that embeds the audit on a website as a lead magnet
- In sub-accounts, Premium connects to the CRM with email and SMS outreach and automation
Reselling it to clients
Agencies can sell Premium Prospecting to sub-accounts. The agency pays HighLevel the $29 a month and sets whatever client-facing price it wants, and the two charges are kept separate so the margin is clear. It needs Prospecting reselling access and a working reselling and payment setup, and the sub-account must be eligible. Inside a client account, the tool appears under Marketing. This suits clients that sell to other businesses, such as a commercial cleaning company or a sign maker, who can use the audits and the website widget to win their own customers.
Using it well
Audits work best as a specific, local offer: pick one niche and one city, run reports, and lead with the single biggest fix each business needs rather than the whole PDF. Prospects can be added to a pipeline, and a workflow trigger fires when a new prospect is created, so follow-up can be automated. Keep outreach legal: cold emails must follow CAN-SPAM rules, and cold texts or prerecorded calls to cell phones generally need prior consent under the TCPA, so email or a personal phone call is the safer first touch. This is general information, not legal advice.
