The short answer
GoHighLevel Reviews AI writes replies to a business's Google and Facebook reviews from inside HighLevel's reputation tools. In Suggestive mode a user clicks AI Reply on a review and picks or edits a draft; in Auto-Pilot mode replies go out automatically, with separate settings by star rating and review source, a wait time before each reply and an optional footer. On pay per use it costs $0.01 per AI-assisted reply sent, and the first four suggestions for each review are free. It is unlimited on AI Employee Growth ($50) and Unlimited ($97). The agency has to switch it on before a sub-account can use it.

Suggestive and Auto-Pilot modes
Suggestive mode keeps a person in charge. Each review gets an AI Reply button that produces a personalized draft based on what the reviewer wrote, and the user can regenerate, edit or send it. Auto-Pilot removes that step and answers reviews as they arrive. Most businesses are better served by a mix: Auto-Pilot for short positive reviews, where a warm thank-you is all that is needed, and Suggestive for anything critical, where the owner should decide what to say. Reviews AI covers Google and Facebook reviews only, so reviews on industry sites still need replies written by hand.
Rules worth setting in Auto-Pilot
HighLevel's guide lists four controls for automated replies. Set them before the first reply goes out, because a reply posted in the business's name is public straight away. Agree the rules with the client in writing, especially what happens to one- and two-star reviews, and read the first week of automated replies together, since the owner answers for anything the AI posts.
- Responses tailored by star rating, so a 5-star review and a 2-star review never get the same tone
- A wait time before each reply is posted, which avoids answering within seconds and looking automated
- A reply footer, such as a thank-you line or the business name
- Different replies for Facebook and Google reviews
What it costs in practice
Pay per use is priced at one cent per AI-assisted reply that is sent. Generating suggestions is free for the first four per review, and each generation after that costs $0.01. Rewriting a reply by hand costs nothing. A local business receiving 40 reviews a month would pay about $0.40 a month on pay per use, so the $50 AI Employee Growth plan never makes sense for review replies alone. It only pays off when the same sub-account also uses Conversation AI replies, Voice AI minutes or Content AI heavily, since Growth and Unlimited both include Reviews AI without limit.
Care points for regulated businesses
A public reply can reveal more than the owner intends. For healthcare, legal and financial clients, an AI reply that thanks someone for 'your visit last Tuesday' or mentions their treatment can confirm that the reviewer is a client, which may conflict with privacy rules such as HIPAA. For those clients, keep Reviews AI in Suggestive mode, or write the footer and star-rating replies so they stay generic and never repeat details from the review. This is general guidance; clients in regulated fields should check their own obligations with a compliance professional.
