The short answer

GoHighLevel vs Mindbody comes down to what you need to run. Mindbody is the better fit for class-based fitness and wellness studios that want scheduling, memberships, payments and a consumer marketplace from one vendor. HighLevel is the better fit for studios and wellness agencies that want published pricing and full control of lead capture, texting, email and AI phone answering across several brands. Mindbody's Starter plan is Quote on request; HighLevel starts at $97 a month with usage billed on top.

Mindbody is management software for fitness studios, gyms, yoga and pilates studios, spas and wellness businesses, best known for class scheduling and its consumer app. Every plan includes booking, payments, branded website widgets, a business website, unlimited users and a listing on the Mindbody app, which the company says reaches 3M+ monthly shoppers. The top Ultimate plan adds automated email and text campaigns, a lead management dashboard and an AI Concierge that answers client questions and responds to missed calls. Plans are sold through a sales conversation rather than a public price list.

Where Mindbody is stronger

Mindbody advantages

  • The Mindbody app puts studios in front of consumers already browsing for classes, with a fee only when the app sends someone new.
  • Studio tools such as Pick-a-Spot and room, chair and equipment reservations suit class-based businesses.
  • Unlimited users on every plan, so adding instructors does not add logins to pay for.
  • Ultimate bundles SMS and email campaigns, a lead dashboard and the AI Concierge in one system.

Where Mindbody falls short

  • No public prices, so comparing costs means a sales call.
  • Email and SMS marketing and lead management sit only on Ultimate, and the AI Concierge is an add-on on Accelerate.
  • New clients delivered by the Mindbody app cost 20% of their first purchase, capped at $30.
  • Built for studio operators, not for agencies that run and resell marketing for many businesses.

Where HighLevel is stronger

HighLevel puts CRM, funnels, websites, two-way texting, calling, review requests, courses and an AI phone agent in one login, and agencies can put their own brand on it from the Unlimited plan. The trade-off is a steeper learning curve and usage charges on top of the plan, which our cost calculator adds up. For the full picture read our GoHighLevel review.

Who should pick which

Choose Mindbody Class-based fitness and wellness studios that want scheduling, memberships, payments and a consumer marketplace from one vendor.
Choose HighLevel Studios and wellness agencies that want published pricing and full control of lead capture, texting, email and AI phone answering across several brands.

Switching

Mindbody holds memberships, class rosters and recurring billing, which are the hardest parts to move. If you add HighLevel for marketing only, keep Mindbody for check-in and billing and send new enquiries into HighLevel through its forms and landing pages. If you plan to leave Mindbody entirely, ask for a full export of clients, memberships and payment data, and read your contract terms first, since plans are sold through a sales process.

Verdict

Mindbody is built around the studio: class schedules, memberships, spot booking and a consumer app that can bring in new members. HighLevel is built around the lead: capturing enquiries, following up by text and email, and closing the sale. Mindbody's Ultimate plan now covers much of that ground with SMS and email campaigns, a lead dashboard and an AI Concierge, but its prices are quote only. HighLevel publishes its prices, starts at $97 a month and bills texts, calls and AI by use. A studio group that wants one vendor may prefer Mindbody Ultimate; an owner who wants to see costs upfront and tune every follow-up step will find HighLevel easier to budget.

Questions

How much does Mindbody cost?
Mindbody does not list plan prices. Its pricing page shows Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate with a Let's talk button on each and a starting price per location in local currency. We could only load the UK version of that page, so no US figure is quoted here. HighLevel's prices are public: $97, $297 and $497 a month, with usage billed separately.
Does Mindbody have an AI receptionist like GoHighLevel Voice AI?
Yes. Mindbody describes its AI Concierge as a 24/7 front desk assistant that answers client questions, responds to missed calls and drives sales. It is included on Ultimate and an add-on on Accelerate. HighLevel Voice AI answers inbound calls, places outbound calls from workflows, books appointments and transfers to staff, priced per minute or at $97 a month per sub-account on AI Employee Unlimited, with phone minutes billed on top.
What fee does Mindbody charge for clients from its app?
Mindbody's pricing page says there is no fee when a client you already have books through the app. A fee applies only when the app delivers a client you would not have received otherwise: 20%, capped at $30, and only on that person's first purchase with your business. HighLevel has no consumer marketplace, so it charges no referral fee, but it also does not send you new clients by itself.
Can GoHighLevel run memberships for a fitness studio?
HighLevel can sell paid memberships, courses and recurring payments, and its calendars handle appointments with automated reminders. It does not list studio-specific tools such as Pick-a-Spot or room and equipment reservations, which Mindbody includes from Accelerate up. A studio with complex class rosters may be better served keeping a studio system for check-in and using HighLevel for marketing.
