The short answer

GoHighLevel vs Nutshell comes down to what you need to run. Nutshell is the better fit for B2B sales teams that want a straightforward pipeline CRM with light marketing tools. HighLevel is the better fit for agencies and local businesses that need calling, Voice AI, reviews and unlimited users across many client accounts. Nutshell's Foundation plan is $13/user/mo billed annually, $19 monthly; HighLevel starts at $97 a month with usage billed on top.

Nutshell is a sales CRM for small and mid-size teams, priced per user. Every plan includes unlimited contacts, email and calendar sync, a form builder, landing pages, web chat and an AI chatbot, plus a monthly allowance of AI outcomes such as call summaries and lead research. Higher tiers add sales automation, more pipelines, advanced reporting and meeting scheduling. Email marketing, two-way SMS, a unified inbox, prospecting data, and quotes and invoices are sold as add-ons, so the final price depends on team size and which add-ons you choose.

Where Nutshell is stronger

Nutshell advantages

  • Clear per-user tiers from $13, with unlimited contacts and free live support on every plan.
  • Landing pages, forms, web chat and an AI chatbot are included even on Foundation.
  • Sales management features such as quotas, lead assignment rules and territories suit teams with several reps.
  • No setup fees, and a free trial that needs no credit card.

Where Nutshell falls short

  • Per-user pricing grows with the team, while HighLevel includes unlimited users.
  • Texting and a unified inbox need the Engagement add-on at $16 per user a month plus SMS credits.
  • No calling, AI voice agent, review management or course builder is listed.
  • No agency sub-accounts or white label are listed.

Where HighLevel is stronger

HighLevel puts CRM, funnels, websites, two-way texting, calling, review requests, courses and an AI phone agent in one login, and agencies can put their own brand on it from the Unlimited plan. The trade-off is a steeper learning curve and usage charges on top of the plan, which our cost calculator adds up. For the full picture read our GoHighLevel review.

Who should pick which

Choose Nutshell B2B sales teams that want a straightforward pipeline CRM with light marketing tools.
Choose HighLevel Agencies and local businesses that need calling, Voice AI, reviews and unlimited users across many client accounts.

Switching

Contacts, companies and deals move with a spreadsheet export and import, but pipelines, custom fields and automations have to be rebuilt by hand. Map each Nutshell pipeline and stage to a HighLevel pipeline before importing so deals land in the right place. If you are moving the other way, Nutshell says it offers free support and data migration during its trial.

Verdict

Nutshell is a well-priced sales CRM, and HighLevel is a marketing and communication platform that includes a CRM. For a five-person sales team on Pro, Nutshell is $210 a month billed annually before add-ons; HighLevel Starter is $97 with unlimited users, plus usage. Nutshell is easier to justify when the work is managing deals, quotas and territories across reps. HighLevel pulls ahead when leads arrive by phone and text and need instant replies, bookings and review requests, or when an agency runs many client accounts. Adding Nutshell's Engagement and Marketing add-ons narrows the feature gap but raises the monthly bill.

Questions

Is Nutshell cheaper than GoHighLevel?
For one or two users, often yes: Foundation is $13 per user a month billed annually. The comparison changes as the team grows, because Nutshell charges per user and HighLevel does not. At five users, Nutshell Pro is $210 a month on annual billing, before add-ons like Engagement at $16 per user for SMS. HighLevel Starter is $97 a month for unlimited users, plus usage.
Does Nutshell include texting?
Not in the base CRM. Two-way SMS and a unified inbox for chat, SMS and social messages come with the Engagement add-on at $16 per user a month, and SMS messages are bought separately from $15 a month. The Marketing add-on adds SMS marketing. HighLevel includes two-way texting on every plan, with messages billed from the wallet.
Which has better AI features?
They point AI at different work. Nutshell includes a monthly allowance of AI outcomes, from 10 on Foundation to 150 on Enterprise, used for call and meeting summaries, lead research and scoring, and email campaign generation. HighLevel's AI talks to customers directly: Conversation AI replies to texts and chats, Voice AI answers calls and books appointments, and Reviews AI drafts review replies.
Can an agency manage clients in Nutshell?
Nutshell's pricing page does not list client sub-accounts, snapshots or white label, and it is priced per user, so it fits a company managing its own sales. HighLevel is organized around client sub-accounts, copies setups between them with snapshots, and adds SaaS Mode on Agency Pro for reselling the platform under your brand.
