The short answer

GoHighLevel vs Podia comes down to what you need to run. Podia is the better fit for solo creators who want a simple site to sell courses, downloads, coaching and a community without running several tools. HighLevel is the better fit for businesses that need to manage leads in a CRM, text and call customers, and grow an email list past 1,000 subscribers. Podia's Mover plan is $42/mo billed yearly ($504/yr); HighLevel starts at $97 a month with usage billed on top.

Podia is an all-in-one platform for creators who sell online courses, digital downloads, coaching, events and community memberships. Every plan includes a website and blog, landing pages, a community, courses, coaching, events and a custom domain, and email marketing is built in with subscriber limits by plan. Higher plans remove Podia's own transaction fee and add affiliate marketing, upsells, PayPal, Zapier and assistant seats. Podia is aimed at solo creators who want one simple storefront rather than a stack of separate tools.

Where Podia is stronger

Podia advantages

  • Website, blog, landing pages, courses, coaching, events and community on every plan.
  • No Podia transaction fee on Shaker and Earthquaker.
  • A 14-day free trial with no card and no need to pick a plan first.
  • Unlimited customers on every plan, plus a Podia MCP connector for AI tools.

Where Podia falls short

  • Email subscriber limits are low (100, 500 and 1,000 by plan), while HighLevel has unlimited contacts and bills email per send.
  • Mover charges a 5% transaction fee on sales.
  • The pricing page lists no CRM, texting, calling or review tools.
  • Affiliates and upsells start on Shaker, so the entry plan is a basic storefront.

Where HighLevel is stronger

HighLevel puts CRM, funnels, websites, two-way texting, calling, review requests, courses and an AI phone agent in one login, and agencies can put their own brand on it from the Unlimited plan. The trade-off is a steeper learning curve and usage charges on top of the plan, which our cost calculator adds up. For the full picture read our GoHighLevel review.

Who should pick which

Choose Podia Solo creators who want a simple site to sell courses, downloads, coaching and a community without running several tools.
Choose HighLevel Businesses that need to manage leads in a CRM, text and call customers, and grow an email list past 1,000 subscribers.

Switching

Moving from Podia to HighLevel is a manual job. Export customers and email subscribers, download course files and digital products, and recreate each product as a HighLevel course, membership or order form. Rebuild your site pages and blog in HighLevel's website builder and set up your community again. Reconnect your payment processor, point your custom domain at HighLevel, and tell customers how to log in to their new member area.

Verdict

Podia gives a solo creator a straightforward way to sell courses, downloads, coaching and a community from one site, with a 14-day trial that needs no card. The trade-offs are email subscriber limits between 100 and 1,000 and a 5% fee on Mover. HighLevel is a bigger system: unlimited contacts, a full CRM, texting, calling, Voice AI and client sub-accounts, with email billed per send rather than capped. Creators selling a handful of products may prefer Podia's simplicity; anyone building a larger list or handling phone leads will hit its limits sooner than HighLevel's.

Questions

Is Podia cheaper than GoHighLevel?
On yearly billing, Podia Mover works out at $42 a month and Shaker at $84, both below HighLevel Starter at $97 a month. Mover charges a 5% transaction fee and caps email at 100 subscribers, so a growing creator may move up quickly. HighLevel has no subscriber cap, but it bills email at $0.675 per 1,000 sends, plus texts and calls.
How many email subscribers does Podia allow?
Podia's pricing page lists up to 100 email subscribers on Mover, 500 on Shaker and 1,000 on Earthquaker. It says Podia will email you as you get close to the limit and you can upgrade to the next plan for more. HighLevel plans include unlimited contacts, with email sending billed by volume at $0.675 per 1,000 emails.
Does Podia charge transaction fees?
Podia charges a 5% transaction fee on the Mover plan and no Podia fee on Shaker or Earthquaker. Payment processors still charge their own fees, which Podia's page lists as 2.9% + 30 cents. If you sell a lot through Podia, the fee alone can make Shaker cheaper than Mover, so run your expected sales through both plans before choosing.
Can Podia replace a CRM?
Not for a sales team. Podia keeps customers, email subscribers and purchases for a creator's store, but its pricing page does not list a CRM, pipelines, texting or calling. HighLevel includes a CRM with pipelines, smart lists and lead scoring, a unified inbox for SMS, email and social messages, and a phone system, which suits businesses that follow up leads personally.
