The short answer
For a one-off blast, select contacts in Contacts, choose the Send SMS bulk action, write the message and send it now, schedule it or use Drip Mode. For texts triggered by events, use a workflow with the Send SMS action. Either way you first need a sending number, contact consent and, for US local numbers, approved A2P 10DLC registration.
Get the number and registration ready
US carriers expect application-to-person texts from 10-digit local numbers to be registered. In HighLevel, brand registration comes first, then campaign registration, where you pick a use case (marketing, informational or mixed) and a volume option. Chat Widget Setup uses a HighLevel opt-in widget to show consent; Manual Setup covers your own website forms, paper forms, QR codes and verbal consent. HighLevel's phone pricing lists one-time fees of $22.50 for sole proprietor and low volume registrations or $64 for high volume, plus a monthly campaign fee between $1.50 and $10.50. Extra campaigns for an approved brand start from the Trust Center.
Send a bulk SMS
Go to Contacts, filter to your audience and tick the contacts. Choose the Send SMS bulk action, pick the sending number, write the message or insert a saved snippet (snippets live under Marketing, Snippets) and review the recipients. Then choose Send Now, schedule it for a later date and time, or use Drip Mode, which splits a large list into batches with Start On, Batch Quantity and Repeat After settings. HighLevel skips contacts who opted out or are marked DND for SMS. Afterward, open Bulk Actions in Contacts and click Show Stats for sent, delivered, failed and skipped counts. Sent texts cannot be recalled.
Costs and consent
HighLevel charges $0.00747 per outbound SMS segment plus a carrier fee passed through from the recipient's network: $0.0035 for AT&T, $0.0045 for T-Mobile and $0.0050 for Verizon from October 1, 2026. Long messages and emojis can split one text into several segments, so check the segment count before a big send. Only text people who agreed to hear from you, include clear opt-out wording, and ask a lawyer about TCPA and state texting rules before promotional sends. For repeating messages, such as follow-up after a form fill, build a workflow with the Send SMS action instead of repeating bulk sends.
