The short answer

It depends on how sure you are about the plan. Annual billing costs ten times the monthly price, so you get two months free: $194 saved on Starter, $594 on Unlimited and $994 on Agency Pro. The catch is flexibility: the Terms call unused prepaid services non-refundable, and a yearly plan cannot be switched back to monthly inside the app.

Monthly versus annual, in dollars

Usage is not part of either price. Texts, calls, email and AI are billed from the wallet however you pay for the plan, so annual billing only discounts the subscription line. For an agency whose usage runs to a few hundred dollars a month, the saving is real but smaller as a share of the total bill. For a single business on Starter with light usage, $194 a year is a larger share of what it spends.

  • Starter: $1,164 paid monthly over a year, or $970 yearly, a saving of $194
  • Unlimited: $3,564 paid monthly over a year, or $2,970 yearly, a saving of $594
  • Agency Pro: $5,964 paid monthly over a year, or $4,970 yearly, a saving of $994

What you give up

HighLevel's Terms of Service say fees are non-refundable, that unused or canceled prepaid services are non-refundable, and that HighLevel may, at its discretion, give account credit for future services if you cancel prepaid services early. So treat a year paid up front as money you will spend on HighLevel whatever happens. The billing FAQ adds that changing an existing yearly plan back to monthly is not available in the platform and needs a request to support.

When annual makes sense

Annual works best once the trial and a month or two of real use have settled which plan you need. A single business happy on Starter, or an agency already past 3 clients on Unlimited, is unlikely to change tier within a year. It is riskier if you expect to change plans soon, are still testing HighLevel with clients, or have tight cash flow. Upgrades are prorated, but HighLevel does not say how a mid-year downgrade on an annual plan is credited, so ask its billing team before relying on one.
