The short answer
GoHighLevel Ask AI is the built-in copilot in the top bar and left menu of agency and sub-account views, and in the HighLevel, LeadConnector and white-label mobile apps. Users type or speak a request, and Ask AI answers questions, pulls reports, creates and updates contacts and opportunities, runs bulk SMS, email and tagging, writes content and makes images. It always asks for approval before it creates, changes or deletes anything. Agency users have full access; sub-account users need pay per use or an AI Employee plan. Sessions are priced by usage, and HighLevel's examples run from about $0.70 to $2.93 per session.
| Plans | Agency users by default; sub-account users on pay per use, AI Employee Growth or AI Employee Unlimited |
|---|---|
| Cost | Pay per use by session (HighLevel's examples $0.70 to $2.93); included allowance on Growth, 3x on Unlimited |

What Ask AI can do
HighLevel describes Ask AI as a workspace that plans, reasons, asks guided questions, retrieves data and then acts. It opens from the top navigation bar or its own menu item, takes typed or spoken requests, and works in both agency and sub-account views, so the same assistant can pull a client's numbers or draft that client's next campaign. Its current abilities include:
- Branded content for emails, social posts, ads and blogs, including full blog drafts
- Creating and editing images
- Creating, searching and updating contacts and opportunities
- Bulk actions: sending SMS or email and adding tags to many contacts
- Managing AI agents and phone system settings
- Pulling reporting data and dashboards
Limits and safeguards
Any write, update or delete shows a confirmation screen first, so Ask AI cannot quietly change data. Some areas are still limited: workflows and campaigns are read-only, and Affiliate Manager, Listings (Yext), the chat widget, the full website builder and IVR configuration are not yet connected. On mobile, HighLevel's September 2026 article says Ask AI is available to agency admins. A voice mode added to the mobile app in September 2026 allows spoken two-way conversation, with the ability to interrupt the assistant mid-answer. Bulk sends deserve extra care: an approved bulk SMS is a real campaign, subject to A2P registration and consent rules.
How sessions are priced
A session is one or more turns in which Ask AI plans, generates content, takes actions and asks for approvals. Cost depends on how much reasoning, data retrieval, image generation and asset creation the task needs; simple drafting is cheapest. Multi-channel campaigns and tasks that pull outside data sit at the expensive end, so a vague request that makes the assistant plan many steps costs more than a precise one. HighLevel's examples:
- Importing products and updating currency: $1.1757 over 15 turns from 2 user messages
- A fitness funnel with 3 email templates: $0.6992
- A multi-channel event campaign with several assets: $2.9271
- AI Employee Growth includes a baseline allowance and Unlimited three times as much, measured in rolling 5-hour windows, as with AI Studio
- Monthly usage limits can notify at the limit (the default) or block AI, and reset each calendar month
Practical uses for agencies
The strongest use is setup work that would otherwise take many clicks. HighLevel has guides for using Ask AI to build and deploy Conversation AI bots, create and attach knowledge bases, create and manage courses, and generate SEO-focused blog posts. Reporting questions, such as which pipeline stage has the most stalled deals this month, are cheap to ask and faster than building a dashboard. Keep an eye on who can use it in client accounts: because sub-account usage is billed, an agency on pay per use should decide whether Ask AI is part of the client's fee before clients start using it.
