The short answer
The GoHighLevel Client Portal is the single login a business's customers use for its courses, communities, affiliate program, invoices, estimates, contracts, shared files and subscriptions, and in the new portal, appointments. It runs on a default clientclub.net address or on your own domain. Inside it customers can pay invoices, sign contracts, accept estimates, cancel subscriptions and upload documents. HighLevel lists no fee for the web portal; the only portal add-on on its pricing page is the Branded Client Portal App at $49 a month per sub-account.

What customers can do in the portal
The portal pulls a business's customer-facing tools into one place, so a customer who buys a course, joins a community and pays invoices does not juggle three logins. Each app inside it can be switched on or off through app permissions, which lets a business show only what that customer relationship needs, such as billing without courses.
- Take courses and join communities
- View and pay invoices, sign contracts and accept estimates, with email alerts when a document is shared
- Cancel subscriptions and download invoices under billing settings (access ends as soon as a subscription is cancelled)
- Upload PDFs, Office files, text files and images, which land on the contact record; video files are not accepted
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments in the new portal, where the calendar allows it
- Reach the affiliate program if the business runs one
Setup, domain and login
Every portal starts on a clientclub.net address. To use your own domain, point an A record or CNAME at the values HighLevel provides and allow 24 to 48 hours for DNS to update. Branding covers the portal name and description, primary and secondary colors, a logo up to 200 by 200 pixels, a favicon, a portal image, a support email and copyright text. Customers can sign in with email and password, with Google if that option is left on, with a one-time secure code, or through magic links that give one-click access to course and community apps.
The unified portal
HighLevel is moving to a unified Client Portal, released through Labs, that combines the dashboard, courses, communities, billing, shared files and account settings under one login with one navigation. Enabling it is a single switch in the portal dashboard and customers do not need to sign in again. Appointments only exist in this new UI, and they need both the Appointments app enabled and client portal booking turned on in each calendar. HighLevel says branded app support for appointments is still coming, so check before promising self-booking inside a client's branded app.
Automation and the branded app
Portal activity feeds workflows. A Client Portal File Uploaded trigger can alert staff or move an opportunity when a customer submits a document, and customers get file share notifications when you send them something. For businesses that want the portal as their own app, the Branded Client Portal App is $49 a month per sub-account on HighLevel's pricing page and August 2026 pricing guide. An older 2025 setup article still quotes $79, so rely on the pricing page. When a client buys it through the agency, two subscriptions are created: client to agency, and agency to HighLevel.
