The short answer
GoHighLevel SEO is a paid add-on powered by Search Atlas that puts keyword research, rank tracking, site audits, backlink data, content tools and local SEO heatmaps inside a HighLevel sub-account. It costs $79 a month for each sub-account it is enabled on, and the agency has to turn on SEO reselling for that sub-account before it appears under Sites. Quotas are fixed: 4 sites, up to 1,000 tracked keywords per site, 1,000 rank tracking credits and 40 on-page audits a month. That sizing fits local businesses better than large content publishers.

What the SEO add-on includes
HighLevel describes the module as an integrated SEO solution powered by Search Atlas, so clients can work on rankings without a separate subscription. Once enabled it shows up under Sites, then SEO, in the sub-account. The toolset covers keyword research and tracking, website audits, backlink analysis, Site Explorer, a content planner, Content Genius for AI-assisted optimization, SEO reports and local SEO heatmaps. It can also generate AI fixes for common on-page problems such as missing meta descriptions, weak title tags, missing image alt text and keyword issues, which saves time on small business sites that were never optimized.
Quotas per sub-account
The limits decide whether the add-on is enough for a given client. Most quotas refresh monthly, but sites, AI fix generation, Site Explorer, Google Search Console projects and rank tracking projects do not, so those act as hard caps for as long as the sub-account keeps the add-on. Plan which domains and keyword sets matter most before adding them.
- Sites: 4
- Keywords tracked: up to 1,000 per site; 5 rank tracking projects; 1,000 rank tracking credits a month
- Site audit projects: 4; on-page audits: 40 a month
- Keyword research lookups: 100; backlink research credits: 10,000
- Premium AI quota: 10 credits at 3 credits per article; 30 stored articles; 10 content plans
Billing and reselling
HighLevel lists SEO among its reselling services at $79 a month per enabled sub-account. The agency pays HighLevel that fee for each client it switches on, and with reselling it can bill the client the same price or more. Because it is per sub-account, an agency with 10 SEO clients pays $790 a month to HighLevel for the add-on alone. Agencies have asked on HighLevel's ideas board for a way to buy extra sites beyond the 4 per sub-account, which tells you the site cap is a real constraint for multi-brand clients.
Is the add-on worth $79?
For a single local business tracking a few hundred keywords on one or two sites, the quotas are generous and having reports next to the CRM makes client reporting easier. The content side is thinner: 10 premium AI credits at 3 per article works out to about three AI articles a month. Agencies producing a lot of content, auditing large sites or managing more than 4 domains per client will hit the caps. Before reselling it, compare the quota list with the SEO tools your team already pays for and decide which clients actually need rank tracking.
SEO you get without the add-on
Basic on-page SEO does not need the $79 module. HighLevel websites and funnels have fields for page titles and meta descriptions, blog posts support custom URL slugs, canonical URLs, image alt text and a blog sitemap, and schema markup can be added manually. Each connected domain can also serve an llms.txt file, a Markdown summary of the site for AI crawlers, which has to be updated by hand when content changes. The add-on is for measurement and research; the builder already handles the basics.
